Russell Bowen was a character in the film Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, in which he is portrayed by Larry Cox. A preppy, Russell is the boyfriend of Sandra Casey.
He is the 58th victim of Jason Voorhees.
Biography[]
Sometime in June, Russell got hold of a cabin near Crystal Lake belonging to his uncle. Russell and a few others then decided to use the cabin to throw a surprise birthday party for their friend Michael Rogers. Much to Russell's frustration, everyone else proved too rowdy to handle, trashing the place and eating his uncle's food. One night, his girlfriend Sandra took him out to the lake and begun to strip down to go for a swim. He then proceeded to undress himself as well, just as Jason Voorhees appeared. Seeing Jason approaching with an axe in hand, Russell began frantically crawling backwards and managed to let out a scream right before Jason split his face open with the axe. His corpse would later be discovered by Maddy Paulson before she was killed by Jason Voorhees and also by Tina Shepard hanging from a tree, when she discovered more of Jason's victims.
Trivia[]
- In the beta version, his death scene showed a jet of blood after being hit by the axe, as well as a scene of him convulsing on the ground with his face split open. And while Sandra calls his name, a closeup shot is shown of his bursted face. It was censored by the order of the MPAA.
